“Koroglu” tanker, owned by Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), has returned to service following extensive repairs, completing its first voyage post-refurbishment to the port of Kiyanly in Turkmenistan.
The repairs were carried out at the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
The work included cleaning and painting both the underwater and above-water sections of the hull, overhauling the engine room mechanisms, performing welding, electrical, and carpentry tasks, and updating crew living and service quarters.
Measuring 149.9 meters in length, 17.3 meters in width, and capable of speeds up to 12 knots, the tanker can transport up to 13,000 tons of cargo, reinforcing the company’s capacity in regional maritime trade.
