KURULTAI Festival Brings Turkic–Tatar Culture to Life in Romania

Romania’s Techirghiol city has hosted the 10th International Authentic Turkic-Tatar Culture Festival “KURULTAI”, held under the patronage of the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO and supported by the Romanian Culture Ministry.

This year, Turkmenistan took part in the festival for the first time, presenting films that reflect the nation's rich cultural heritage and evolving cinematic landscape, The Caspian Post informs via Turkmen media.

The Turkmen program featured “Red Kurte” directed by Sahysalyh Bayramov, and “The Red Apple” by Hekim Alovov, a film based on a lyrical legend from the book authored by the National Leader of the Turkmen people. The latter portrays traditional Turkmen values, celebrating honesty, hard work, and cultural identity.

The film screenings were a highlight of the festival’s vibrant program, which also included cultural performances, art exhibitions, master classes, and traditional crafts.

The grand opening ceremony of KURULTAI took place at the Jean Constantin Summer Theater in Techirghiol, drawing participation from international delegations, diplomats, government officials, and prominent figures from the arts and culture sectors.
