Turkmenistan to Join 10th Caspian Media Forum in Astrakhan

Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan Igor Babushkin has announced that a Turkmen delegation will participate in the 10th Caspian Media Forum in Astrakhan, Russia on August 22, alongside representatives from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

The forum, themed “The History of the Caspian: From Past to Future,” will focus on linking the region’s historical heritage with current geopolitical, economic, and environmental issues, The Caspian Post informs via Turkmen media.

The program includes the “Inforum” educational intensive by the Union of Journalists of Russia, film screenings, and panel discussions, with a session on “Cinema and Media” co-organized by the Russian Filmmakers’ Union.

Turkmenistan’s participation highlights the country’s focus on the Caspian region and its efforts to strengthen partnerships with neighboring states.

In parallel, the Astrakhan Kremlin will host the 5th International Classical Arts Festival “Caspian Seasons” from August 19 to 30, featuring concerts by opera stars, prominent artists from five Caspian states, and a regional symphony orchestra.
