President Tokayev to Outline Kazakhstan’s Policy Priorities in September 8 Address

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is set to deliver a national address on September 8 during a joint session of the Senate and the Majilis (parliament), the two chambers of Kazakhstan’s parliament.

The session will be held in Astana and will bring together a wide array of participants, including lawmakers, senior government officials, members of the National Kurultai, and representatives from civil society, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

The president’s address is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. local time and will be broadcast live on national television and streamed via Akorda’s official social media platforms, allowing citizens across the country to follow the key messages in real time.

Chairman of the Majilis Erlan Koshanov has signed an official decree to convene the joint session, citing constitutional authority.

“In accordance with subparagraph 2, paragraph 4, Article 58 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a joint session of the Parliament Chambers is hereby convened for 11:00 on September 8, 2025, in Astana,” the decree states.

President Tokayev’s annual address is expected to outline major policy priorities, proposed reforms, and strategic directions for the year ahead, setting the national agenda across key areas such as the economy, social development, innovation, and governance.
