Kazakhstan Eyes Deeper Partnership with Mongolia Amid Historic Parliamentary Visit

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has said that the first official visit of Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan as Chairman of Mongolia’s State Great Khural (Parliament) will further enhance bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Mongolia.

Recalling his own visit to Mongolia last October, President Tokayev noted that it had advanced intergovernmental and interdepartmental cooperation to a new level, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He also highlighted his recent talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China.

“Mongolia is a reliable and key partner in Asia. Our countries share a deep-rooted friendship and strategic partnership, built on common traditions, culture, and history. We are ready to work together to further deepen these relations,” President Tokayev said, underlining the importance of strengthening interparliamentary ties. “Kazakhstan aims for comprehensive development of its strategic partnership with friendly Mongolia.”

Mongolian Parliament Chairman Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan expressed gratitude for the warm reception and said, “I am confident this visit will mark a new chapter in our bilateral relations. Today’s meeting will further strengthen the friendship and fraternity between our peoples, whose histories and traditions are closely connected to the nomadic civilization. I am pleased to see the recent increase in high-level visits and dialogues between our nations.”

The leaders discussed interparliamentary diplomacy, trade and economic cooperation, regional collaboration, and cultural and humanitarian initiatives.

Earlier, a Mongolian parliamentary delegation led by Chairman Amarbayasgalan visited the Majilis, the lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament.
