Kazakhstan’s Team Wins Four Medals at European Junior Olympiad in Informatics

Kazakhstan’s young programmers delivered an outstanding performance at the ninth European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI 2025) in Shumen, Bulgaria, securing four medals - one silver and three bronze - and marking a strong showing on the international stage.

The event brought together over 100 young programmers from 24 countries competing for 25 medals, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Kazakhstan’s team delivered an exceptional performance, with all four participants finishing as prizewinners, earning one silver and three bronze medals.

The silver medal was awarded to Qurmet Abilmansur, a 9th-grade pupil at the Atyrau Regional Bilim-Innovation Lyceum (BIL).

The bronze medals went to:

Shaimerden Nurali, 9th grade, Kokshetau BIL

Sayat Yussupov, 9th grade, Ust-Kamenogorsk BIL

Mugzhan Dinmukhammed, 9th grade, Kokshetau BIL

The team was coached by Alimzhan Amanov, PhD, assistant professor at the Kazakh-British Technical University, and Batyr Sardarbekov, a champion of national and international Olympiads in competitive programming.

Earlier this year, Kazakhstan’s team also secured four medals at the International Economics Olympiad in Greece, highlighting the country’s rising prominence in international academic competitions.
