Turkmenbashi has welcomed the opening of the Awaza branch of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.
The ceremony was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Activities of the Foundation, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Atabayeva highlighted that the Foundation, established in 2021 on the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, has helped provide medical care, modern equipment, and rehabilitation opportunities for children in need. The new branch will focus on recreation, healthcare, and supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for children’s well-being.
The Foundation’s humanitarian work extends internationally, in partnership with UNICEF, delivering aid to children affected by emergencies and disasters in countries including Türkiye, Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Palestine. Its activities are guided by humanism, justice, and goodwill, and are actively supported by the Turkmen state.
