Turkmen Delegation Tours US to Expand Education Cooperation

From October 18 to 28, a delegation from Turkmenistan’s education sector is on a working visit to the US aimed at forging academic ties and expanding international cooperation.

Representatives from leading institutions-including the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, the Dovletmammed Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, and various colleges-are participating under the umbrella of the Turkmen Ministry of Education, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

The delegation will work to finalize memoranda of understanding, set up student and faculty exchange mechanisms, and launch joint projects in education, science, and technology.

Their tour began at Northwest College in Wyoming, with scheduled visits to Montana State University Billings, University of Montana, Montana State University, and University of Wyoming, along with meetings in Washington, D.C.

Discussions will cover a broad scope-from English language pedagogy to ecologies, from economics and healthcare to engineering, agrotechnology, IT, and digital skills.

This visit builds on a 2023 intergovernmental agreement and reflects Turkmenistan’s growing commitment to global educational partnerships and innovation-led development.
