From September 3 to 18, 2025, Mahri Berdyeva, a student at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University in Turkmenistan, took part in a prestigious study trip to Osaka, Japan.
The opportunity was awarded as part of the “Study in Japan for Japanese Language Learners” program, organized annually with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
Mahri earned the trip through her exceptional talent and Japanese language proficiency, successfully navigating a highly competitive three-stage selection process. In April 2025, she ranked among the top six participants in a speech contest held by the Embassy, then excelled in a specialized Japanese language test. Despite being a first-year student, her dedication and skill secured her first place in the final interview, earning her the chance to participate in the program.
During her stay, Mahri is enhancing her Japanese language skills and immersing herself in Japan’s rich culture. The program includes joint classes with international students, promoting cross-cultural exchange, as well as visits to historical and cultural landmarks. This hands-on experience is expected to provide Mahri with invaluable insights and skills to support her future academic and professional growth.
