Turkmen Students Begin Cutting-Edge Training at Malaysia’s Petronas University

A delegation of students and professors from Turkmenistan’s Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University has begun a specialized training and professional development program at Petronas Technology University in Malaysia.

This initiative is part of a 2024 Memorandum of Understanding that broadens the longstanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Malaysian oil and gas giant Petronas in scientific research and education, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

The partnership is vital to Turkmenistan’s socio-economic progress, especially in key sectors like oil, gas, and chemicals, capitalizing on the nation’s abundant mineral resources.

The program features a tailored curriculum, including two weeks of focused training followed by a week of advanced professional development designed by Petronas Technology University. Participants engage in cutting-edge topics such as new technology development, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications in industrial production.

In addition, students and faculty receive hands-on exposure to the university’s educational setup, laboratories, research activities, and Petronas’ production facilities in Malaysia.

The experience aims to enrich students’ practical skills while enabling faculty to integrate global best practices into their teaching, fostering the advancement of Turkmenistan’s education system.
