Uzbekistan continues strengthening its position as a regional center for education, welcoming 10,700 international students between January and July 2025.
Turkmenistan led the influx, with 3,197 of its citizens enrolling in Uzbek universities and other educational institutions. India followed with 2,846 students, while Tajikistan secured third place with 1,246 arrivals, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
Other countries contributing to the international student population include China (532 students), South Korea (428), Pakistan (377), Kyrgyzstan (286), the US (254), Afghanistan (193), and Türkiye (181). Students from various other countries accounted for an additional 1,161 individuals.
