Turkmenistan Celebrates Independence with Landmark Healthcare Conference

A scientific and practical conference commemorating the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence has been recently held at the Training and Research Center for Maternal and Child Health at Myrat Garriyev State Medical University.

The gathering brought together university faculty, healthcare professionals, researchers, young specialists, and students to discuss the country’s healthcare advancements and future priorities, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Speakers highlighted the protection of public health as a cornerstone of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s social policy. Central to the discussions was the State Program Saglyk, which focuses on expanding preventive medicine, improving healthcare accessibility, and enhancing cooperation with international organizations.

The conference placed special emphasis on the education and continuous professional development of medical specialists. Myrat Garriyev University plays a pivotal role in training future family doctors, pediatricians, and obstetricians-gynecologists, while also advancing the skills of practicing physicians. The integration of modern technologies such as telemedicine into medical education was highlighted as a key innovation, enabling remote consultations and expert medical panels on pressing healthcare issues.
