Turkmenistan is actively participating in the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT-2025) in Barcelona, Spain.
The Turkmen delegation, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova, is playing a key role in discussions centered on integrating culture into the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
MONDIACULT-2025 is a major global platform that brings together representatives from over 160 countries to set strategic directions for cultural policies for the coming decades. This year’s conference focuses on critical themes including digital transformation, the expansion of creative industries, the influence of artificial intelligence on culture, and the preservation of cultural heritage in the face of climate change.
At the thematic session titled “Culture and Peace | Culture and Education,” Deputy Foreign Minister Byashimova highlighted Turkmenistan’s commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage and advancing cultural diplomacy on the world stage.
“Turkmenistan strongly upholds UNESCO’s principles and ideals, demonstrated through its active engagement in key programs that foster international humanitarian cooperation,” she said.
The participation of the Turkmen delegation in MONDIACULT-2025 represents a meaningful contribution to the global cultural agenda, reaffirming Turkmenistan’s conviction that culture is a powerful driver of peace, dialogue, and sustainable development.
