Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov has had a phone talk with San Marino’s Secretary for Foreign and Political Affairs Luca Beccari, during which they discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to enhancing collaboration on international platforms.
Central to the talks was the upcoming Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3), scheduled for August 5-8, 2025, in Avaza, Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.
Both sides exchanged views on the conference agenda and highlighted the importance of addressing common challenges faced by landlocked states.
San Marino, despite its European location and developed economy, is one of the world’s smallest republics, fully surrounded by Italy and without sea access. This unique status gives San Marino valuable insights into the logistical, trade, and market access issues confronting LLDCs. Its participation enriches the dialogue aimed at finding effective global solutions.
The conversation underscored Turkmenistan’s role as the host nation of LLDC 3 and emphasized the importance of international cooperation to tackle the shared challenges of landlocked developing countries.
