Turkmenistan Unveils Higher Education Hub for Future Industrial Leaders

The International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in Turkmenistan’s Ashgabat city will officially open on September 1, coinciding with Knowledge and Student Youth Day, according to discussions held at a recent Cabinet of Ministers meeting chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the strategic importance of the new university for the country’s continued development, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

In light of the upcoming inauguration, the president requested that Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, attend the opening ceremony.

The launch of the university is part of a nationwide celebration of the new academic year. On the same day, a new academic building of the State Energy Institute will open in the city of Mary, alongside the inauguration of new schools and kindergartens across Turkmenistan.

These educational milestones reflect Turkmenistan’s strong socio-economic progress. According to official reports, the country’s GDP growth rate reached 6.3 per cent over the first eight months of 2025. A number of major industrial and social facilities were also commissioned during this period, highlighting the steady implementation of national development programs.
