Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan Seal Military Education Cooperation in Samarkand

A significant roundtable discussion and a Memorandum of Cooperation signing ceremony have been conducted as part of the ongoing joint regional military exercises "Unity - 2025" held in Uzbekistan's Samarkand region.

The event featured key delegations led by Major General Arif Hasanov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Education at Azerbaijan’s National Defense University, and Colonel Akmoljon Godirov, Deputy Head of Uzbekistan’s University of Military Security and Defense as well as Chief of the Military Scientific Research Institute, The Caspian Post reports via the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

During the roundtable, both sides explored ways to deepen collaboration in military education and scientific research, discussed the implementation of joint projects, and outlined prospects for future partnerships. The dialogue underscored the vital role of scientific expertise and advanced military training in promoting peace and security in the region, alongside the importance of sharing experience.

The Azerbaijani delegation also presented a detailed briefing on the structure and recent reforms of the National Defense University.

Culminating the event, the National Defense University of Azerbaijan and the University of Military Security and Defense of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, marking a milestone in bilateral military-educational cooperation.
