The 57th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Special Services of the CIS and the 21st Conference of Heads of Security and Intelligence Agencies of Commonwealth countries will be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, aiming to strengthen regional cooperation in critical security matters.
The high-level gatherings will bring together top security officials from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
Representatives from the CIS Executive Committee and the Commonwealth’s Anti-Terrorism Center will also participate.
The main objective of the forums is to bolster cooperation across the region in key security areas, including combating international terrorism and extremism, tackling transnational crime, addressing threats to information security, and fighting illegal trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
Throughout the meetings, delegates will discuss pressing security challenges and coordinate collaborative responses. The sessions will conclude with the formulation of concrete action plans and strategic directions to enhance regional and global security cooperation.
