Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, in collaboration with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, has organized a special visit for the creative team of the popular Channel One show “Chefs on Wheels” to showcase the country's rich culinary traditions and tourism potential to Russian audiences, fostering increased interest and cultural exchange.
During their visit, the production crew explored the historic cities of Samarkand and Tashkent, filming segments at key cultural and architectural landmarks, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The show’s chefs immersed themselves in Uzbek cuisine - tasting traditional dishes, engaging with local vendors at bustling markets, and creating their own interpretations of national recipes inspired by the country’s deep-rooted gastronomic traditions.
A standout feature of the journey was a hot air balloon flight over Parkent district in the Tashkent region, offering panoramic views of mountain ranges, natural wonders, and scenic valleys - all captured on film to highlight Uzbekistan’s breathtaking landscapes.
Each episode wrapped up with a culinary showdown held in the central squares of Samarkand and Tashkent, where the chefs prepared local dishes in front of live audiences. Residents were invited to taste the creations and vote for their favorites, blending community participation with entertainment.
With a viewership of over 18 million across Russia, “Chefs on Wheels” serves as a powerful platform for showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism appeal, blending food, culture, and travel in an engaging format that resonates with audiences across the Russian-speaking world.
