Deadly Explosion at LPG Filling Station in Uzbekistan Leaves Six Dead - VIDEO

A deadly explosion rocked a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder filling station in Uzbekistan’s Karshi district on June 8, leaving six people dead and five others injured.

The blast occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. (GMT+5) and was followed by a large fire, triggering an immediate response from emergency services. Rescue teams were quickly dispatched to the scene and began efforts to contain the fire and manage the aftermath of the explosion, The Caspian Post reports via Vedomosti.

The incident caused significant damage to infrastructure and vehicles at the site. Two passenger cars, two gas tanker trucks, and two underground storage tanks were reportedly damaged in the blast and subsequent fire.

Following instructions from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a special government commission has been established to oversee emergency assistance for the victims, assess the damage, and determine the cause of the explosion.

The commission is being led by Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov and will coordinate efforts to eliminate the consequences of the incident and conduct a full investigation.

Officials from the Emergency Situations Ministry said the situation is under control, while response and recovery operations continue at the site.

The cause of the explosion has not yet been officially disclosed.
