Family of Four Dies from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Uzbekistan's Bukhara

A tragic incident in the Uzbek city of Bukhara has claimed the lives of a family of four due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office, the incident occurred on November 23, 2025, at a residential building on Hamza Street, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The victims included a 43-year-old man, his 40-year-old wife, and their two young daughters.

Preliminary forensic examinations indicate that the deaths resulted from acute respiratory and cardiovascular failure caused by poisoning from a substance of unknown origin.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the precise cause of the incident.

The Bukhara city prosecutor’s office is currently conducting a pre-investigation review into the incident.

Earlier, in Andijan, an employee of the internal affairs bodies and his minor daughter also died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
