President of Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Mohammed Ben Sulayem has arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to participate in the FIA General Assembly and the year-end FIA Awards ceremony.
Upon arrival, he was welcomed by representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Sports, National Olympic Committee, and National Federation of Motorsport and Karting, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Over the coming days, Tashkent will host the FIA General Assembly and the FIA Awards, one of the key events in global motorsport. During his visit to the Ministry of Sports, Sulayem met with participants of the Girls on Track project, highlighting the importance of initiatives that expand women’s involvement in motorsport.
The visit also included bilateral talks on preparations for upcoming events and prospects for expanding cooperation between FIA and Uzbekistan. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Sports and FIA under the United Against Online Abuse project, aimed at combating online abuse.
