A gas explosion occurred on January 31 in the Karakul district of Uzbekistan's Bukhara region, local authorities said.
At 08:23, the Fire and Rescue Service received a call through the 112 emergency system about an explosion of a gas-air mixture in an apartment of a two-story residential building located on Shurobod Street in the Tinchlik MFI neighborhood, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Emergency responders and other relevant services were dispatched to the scene shortly after the report. Efforts to eliminate the consequences of the incident were ongoing.
According to preliminary information, the explosion is believed to have been caused by a gas leak that occurred during the use of a household stove.
Two residents were injured in the incident and were taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities said there were no fatalities.
