Uzbekistan experienced a significant increase in the number of international students during the first ten months of 2025, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.
From January to October, a total of 33,287 foreign nationals arrived in Uzbekistan for educational purposes, representing a 51.5% rise compared to the same period last year, when 21,980 students were recorded, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
India remains the largest source of foreign students in Uzbekistan, with 14,322 students, followed by Turkmenistan with 8,348 students. Tajikistan ranks third, sending 2,323 students, while Pakistan and China contributed 1,620 and 1,254 students, respectively.
Other countries in the top 15 include South Korea (806), Kyrgyzstan (696), Egypt (498), the Philippines (461), the United States (429), Turkey (333), Afghanistan (280), Jordan (175), Russia (158), and the United Kingdom (153). Citizens from other countries accounted for 1,431 students.
