Kuwait and Uzbekistan Strengthen Economic Relations with New Partnership

The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) confirmed on Tuesday that Kuwaiti companies have successfully established global standards in key sectors crucial to the national economy, including finance, logistics, healthcare, and petrochemicals, while also opening opportunities for cooperation and mutual investment with Uzbekistan.

This came in a press statement by the Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of receiving an investment delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Shahrukh Gulamov, in the presence of Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the country Ayub Khan Yunusov, and with the participation of a group of Kuwaiti investors, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.

The statement praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that the presence of the delegation reflects his country’s confidence in the great potential offered by Kuwait as a promising economic and investment destination. The statement affirmed the Chamber’s commitment to building bridges of cooperation that were strengthened during the convening of the first Kuwaiti-Uzbek Joint Committee for Economic, Trade and Scientific Cooperation last November.

The statement said that Kuwait always seeks to strengthen its international relations with the aim of creating a more diverse and prosperous economic environment, stressing that Kuwaiti businessmen have a strong desire to explore external opportunities that contribute to developing infrastructure, achieving food security, improving education and promoting the use of renewable energy sources within Kuwait. For his part, Gulamov expressed his thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for its cooperation in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, praising the great efforts made by the two parties during 2024, as two conferences were held in Kuwait and the third in Uzbekistan.

In turn, Ambassador Yunusov considered that organizing such events by the Chamber of Commerce would contribute to developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, noting the upcoming visit of the Uzbek President to Kuwait next February, which aims to strengthen economic relations. The meeting witnessed a visual presentation on the Uzbek economy, as it is one of the most important exporters of gold and minerals in the world, in addition to providing incentives and exemptions to investors.
