President of Uzbekistan Hosts Delegation from the People's Republic of China

On April 1, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation from the People's Republic of China, led by Liu Jianchao, Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The distinguished guest extended sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to the President of Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.

At the meeting, the parties discussed further expansion of multifaceted cooperation and practical engagement between Uzbekistan and China, in line with the agreements reached at the highest level.

Particular satisfaction was expressed regarding the exceptionally high level of relations between Uzbekistan and China achieved in recent years, characterized by a friendship-based and all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.

Bilateral trade and investment volumes continue to grow steadily, and the number of joint projects and enterprises involving leading companies in key sectors of the economy is increasing.

Practical work is underway on the China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan railway project.

High praise was given to the dynamic interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange. This year, the next Regional Forum and Education Forum are scheduled to take place.

Special attention was devoted to the need for further expansion of inter-parliamentary and inter-party cooperation, particularly in key areas such as poverty reduction, anti-corruption efforts, accelerated digitalization, and industrialization.

The importance of advancing cooperation in higher and vocational education was also highlighted, including the opening of branches of leading Chinese universities in Uzbekistan.
