President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan has completed his official visit to the Republic of Slovenia.
The first Uzbekistan - Slovenia Summit in 20 years marked a new stage in the history of bilateral relations, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.
During the visit, substantive talks were held with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, Prime Minister Robert Golob, and President of the National Assembly Urška Klakočar Zupančič.
The sides discussed various issues covering politics, economy, investment, industrial cooperation, environmental protection, culture, tourism, and education.
A Joint Statement was adopted, along with a substantial package of intergovernmental and interagency agreements that formalized the commitments on priority areas of cooperation.
The highlight of the visit was the Uzbekistan - Slovenia Business Forum, held with the participation of the heads of state and representatives of around 100 leading companies from both countries.
At Ljubljana International Airport, the distinguished guest was seen off by the Minister of the Interior, Boštjan Poklukar, and other senior officials. The President of Uzbekistan departed for the city of Tashkent.
