Uzbekistan, China Explore Deeper Cooperation in Biotechnology and Stem Cell Research

Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Uzbek Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, has met with Huang Weidong, Chairman of the Board of Jian Hospital and Carbon Intelligence Stem Cell, as well as representatives of China’s Haishi Hainuo Group, to discuss prospects for expanding scientific collaboration in biotechnology and stem cell research.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on opportunities to strengthen cooperation in advanced medical technologies, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

Weidong proposed expanding joint activities in several areas, including the supply of stem cells to research institutions, the organization of clinical trials, the implementation of genetic screening programs, and cooperation in information technology - in particular, the creation of a data processing center.

In turn, Azizov highlighted Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts to develop its biotechnology sector, improve scientific and research capacity, and foster international partnerships aimed at promoting innovation and technology transfer in the pharmaceutical industry.
