Georgia, Uzbekistan Strengthen Pharmaceutical Ties at Tashkent Pharma Park Summit

During a recent summit at Tashkent Pharma Park technopark, a delegation from Georgia, comprising representatives from the State Agency for Regulation of Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities under the Georgian Ministry of Labor, Health, and Social Protection, as well as the ministry's officials, have held high-level discussions with Uzbek counterparts.

Abdulla Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, provided an in-depth overview of the country’s pharmaceutical sector, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

He emphasized the investor-friendly environment and the numerous business opportunities available through the Tashkent Pharma Park project.

The meeting addressed key issues including pharmaceutical education, the vocational college-university system, regulatory frameworks, and compliance with international quality standards such as EU GMP, US GMP/FDA, and PIC/S membership.

Special attention was given to challenges surrounding reference pricing and parallel imports, alongside discussions on expanding cooperation to accelerate the development of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry.
