Uzbekistan and Belarus Strengthen Cooperation on Consumer Rights Protection

As part of the 13th International Forum "Antikontrafakt-2025" held in Minsk, Belarus, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies of Uzbekistan and the Belarusian Society for Consumer Rights Protection.

The document aims to further develop cooperation between the two countries in consumer rights protection, share best practices, and implement joint initiatives in e-commerce and tourism, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.

The event was attended by the heads of both organizations, sector specialists, and media representatives. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on improving the consumer rights protection system, strengthening public oversight, and effectively safeguarding citizens’ interests through digitalization.

In her address, Anna Susha, Chairperson of the Belarusian Society for Consumer Rights Protection, noted that the activities of the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies of Uzbekistan have earned recognition in recent years thanks to systemic reforms in the field of consumer rights protection, extensive public awareness efforts, and practical cooperation with government bodies.

The parties agreed to use modern electronic platforms for handling consumer complaints, introduce mechanisms for the prompt resolution of cross-border trade disputes involving citizens of both countries, and organize training and professional development programs.

The signing of this memorandum will elevate the practical cooperation between the two organizations to a new level and establish a solid legal foundation for conducting joint events, seminars, and public monitoring initiatives.

The sides also reached an agreement to establish a permanent working group, create an information exchange system, and promote joint initiatives within international organizations.
