The Interior Ministries of Uzbekistan and Belarus have held their latest session of the interagency coordination working group, aiming to deepen bilateral cooperation in law enforcement and public safety.
The meeting focused on enhancing joint efforts to combat terrorism, extremism, and transnational organized crime, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Both sides highlighted the critical importance of improved investigative collaboration, intelligence sharing, and operational coordination to address these challenges effectively.
Officials acknowledged the success of existing partnership mechanisms between the two ministries, which have already yielded significant progress in investigative activities and information exchange.
Held in a constructive and professional atmosphere, the talks concluded with the signing of a formal protocol, setting out agreed measures for ongoing collaboration.
Following the meeting, the Belarusian delegation toured the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs. They were briefed on various local law enforcement initiatives, including specialized units responsible for maintaining public order and ensuring tourist safety in the Uzbek capital.
