Tajikistan, Uzbekistan Ramp Up Electronics Production

Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are stepping up industrial cooperation with a major expansion of their joint household appliance manufacturing project, signaling growing momentum in regional production.

The Government of Tajikistan, AvestoGroup LLC, and Artel Engineering and Management LLC have signed an additional agreement to scale up the Artel Avesto Electronics plant - a key industrial project aimed at boosting domestic output and economic growth, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

From steady growth to large-scale expansion

The project has been developing in phases since its launch:

Phase I (2019): Annual production capacity reached 70,000 units

Phase II (2021): Manufacturing expanded to include 60,000 washing machines and 10,000 televisions, doubling total output to 140,000 units

Big plans for 2026-2028

The upcoming Phase III will mark a major leap forward. Plans include:

100,000refrigerators annually

50,000 air conditioners per year

Construction of a new production facility in Dushanbe

Once completed, total annual production is expected to hit 300,000 units, transforming the plant into one of the region’s key manufacturing hubs.

The expansion is expected to create new jobs, increase localization of production, broaden the tax base, and strengthen overall industrial capacity in Tajikistan.

The move also aligns with wider industrial growth trends in Uzbekistan, where sectors like automotive manufacturing have already shown strong gains in early 2026.
