A shocking crime has been uncovered in Şişli district of Türkiye's Istanbul city, where the body of a woman was found inside a garbage container.
A local resident collecting recyclable materials found the body and immediately alerted the police. Law enforcement officers cordoned off the area and launched a full-scale investigation, The Caspian Post reports via Turkish media.
Media reports say the victim was identified through fingerprint analysis as a 37-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan. Investigators moved quickly, reviewing surveillance camera footage that led to the identification of suspects.
Two individuals-also Uzbek nationals-were detained at Istanbul Airport while attempting to flee to Georgia. Police confirmed the arrests were made shortly after the crime.
Preliminary information suggests that one of the suspects had a close personal relationship with the victim. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances and possible motives behind the killing.
