Uzbek Institute, CONCH Cement Seal Strategic Partnership

Uzbekistan's Almalyk State Technical Institute has signed a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement with CONCH Cement, one of the world’s largest companies in mining and building materials production.

The agreement envisages close cooperation in industry, education, and research, including the exchange of practical expertise and the launch of joint projects in mining electromechanics, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

A key focus will be the introduction of innovative technologies into the education process, with the involvement of Chinese scientists and industry experts.

The partners also agreed to collaborate on training and retraining specialists for CONCH Cement’s divisions based at the institute. This includes upskilling company staff and conducting joint research and development projects tailored to the company’s practical needs.

Among the proposed initiatives are training specialists in high-demand fields, organizing internships for students and faculty in China and other countries, and carrying out research on pressing technological and production challenges.

The partnership aligns with the government’s strategic goal of transforming the institute into a world-class engineering school specializing in geology, metallurgy, and engineering sciences.

CONCH Cement operates hundreds of enterprises worldwide, produces hundreds of millions of tons of cement and building materials annually, and exports to more than 20 countries, making it a major global player in the mining and construction industry.
