A man in Bektemir District Court of Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent has been fined for making a bizarre false report about US President Donald Trump while intoxicated.
According to court records, the man called the capital’s Main Department of Internal Affairs, claiming that Trump had been kidnapped and asserting that he himself lived in the White House, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
His actions deliberately summoned emergency services, disrupted public order, and ignored lawful police requests to come to the station for verification.
During the hearing, the man pleaded guilty, admitting he was drunk at the time and could not recall the exact content of his call. He also stated that he had not considered the possible consequences of his actions.
The court found him guilty under Article 199 of Uzbekistan’s Administrative Code (“Knowingly False Call to Specialized Services”) and imposed a fine of 3 base units, equivalent to 1.23 million soums ($101.40).
