Law enforcement in Uzbekistan has carried out a major operation targeting the illegal sale of child sexual content, arresting administrators of Telegram channels involved in distributing explicit material featuring minors.

Authorities uncovered an organized network generating significant income from the illicit trade. One suspect in Jizzakh Region managed a channel with nearly 500 members, uploading over 400 videos involving children, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Massive Network in Tashkent Region

A 21-year-old from Tashkent Region ran six channels posing as young women, amassing approximately 3,750 pieces of illegal content. Investigators found he sold access to more than 800 users, earning over 29 million Uzbek sums ($2.377 million).

Both suspects have admitted guilt. Remarkably, one claimed “curiosity” led him to the illegal activity after joining similar groups online.

Criminal Charges and Detention

The suspects are now facing criminal charges under Part 3 of Article 130 of the Uzbek Criminal Code, which criminalizes the production and distribution of pornographic material involving minors. Both remain in custody pending further investigation.
