Uzbek President Begins Short Working Leave

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has started a brief working leave beginning September 29, 2025.

“President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has entered a short working leave as of September 29, 2025,” Press Secretary of the Uzbek president Sherzod Asadov wrote on Telegram, without specifying the duration of the leave, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

This follows a similar short leave the president took earlier this year in January, underscoring a pattern of brief breaks amid his ongoing duties.
