Uzbek President to Chair Expanded Security Council Meeting

Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an expanded session of Uzbekistan’s Security Council will be held on January 13.

As part of the working program, the president will also review facilities within the Ministry of Defense system, underscoring the government’s focus on national security and defense readiness, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The Security Council of Uzbekistan is a key governmental body responsible for shaping and coordinating the country’s national security and defense policies. Established to assist the president in ensuring internal stability, border protection, and strategic planning, the council brings together top officials from the military, law enforcement, intelligence, and government sectors. It advises the president on security threats, defense strategy, and emergency response measures and plays a central role in implementing policies to maintain Uzbekistan’s safety and sovereignty.
