Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to visit Baku on May 17-18 to participate in the Leaders’ Summit of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), highlighting the growing international significance of the global event hosted by Azerbaijan.
The working visit will take place at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, The Caspian Post reports via the Uzbek president's press service.
During the trip, Mirziyoyev will take part in and address the Leaders’ Summit held within the framework of WUF13, which is organized under the auspices of UN-Habitat.
This year’s forum focuses on some of the world’s most pressing urban challenges, including sustainable city development, affordable housing, improving urban living standards, climate resilience, and advancing housing finance mechanisms.
In addition to attending the summit, the Uzbek leader is expected to hold a series of meetings and negotiations with heads of foreign delegations participating in the event.
WUF13 has already drawn tens of thousands of participants from around the world to Baku, further positioning Azerbaijan as a key international platform for dialogue on sustainable urbanization and future city development.
