Uzbekistan, Afghanistan Seal Multi-Sector Deals Worth Over $400 Million

Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have signed 20 commercial contracts worth more than $400 million, marking a significant step in strengthening regional economic cooperation.

The agreements cover key sectors including textiles, raw material supplies, pharmaceuticals, and various manufacturing industries, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The deals were signed during a business meeting held in the Fergana region, where an official Afghan trade delegation arrived to explore new investment opportunities.

The talks brought together representatives of the private sector from both countries. The Afghan delegation was led by Zulgai Azimi, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, and included business figures such as Abdullah Rahimi, Syed Ahmad Noorzad, and Ubaidullah Hotak.

Participants emphasized the importance of expanding cross-border trade and building long-term economic partnerships.

During the visit, the delegation toured major industrial enterprises across the Fergana Valley, gaining insight into Uzbekistan’s production capacity and potential areas for cooperation.

Experts say the agreements could help create new jobs, increase exports, and further integrate Afghanistan into regional production and logistics chains.
