In recent years, the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China has grown substantially, fostering cooperation across various sectors and leading to key agreements in inter-parliamentary relations.
Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Jiang Jiang, visited the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Ulugbek Shermatov, welcomed the guests, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.
The strengthening of friendship and a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries was emphasized at the meeting. The significant intensification of contacts at the level of governments, parliaments, foreign policy, and industry departments, as well as the rapid development of trade-economic and investment cooperation, was noted.
Mr. Shermatov informed the guests in detail about the reforms carried out within the framework of the renewed Constitution and the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, as well as the structure of the Legislative Chamber and its legislative activities.
During the dialogue, which took place in a constructive spirit and an atmosphere of mutual trust, attention was paid to developing inter-parliamentary relations, bringing them to a new level, and exchanging experience.
