Uzbekistan Approves Emergency Cooperation Protocol with Turkmenistan

Uzbekistan has officially approved an international agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation with Turkmenistan in disaster prevention and emergency response.

The presidential decree endorses a protocol amending the existing intergovernmental agreement between the two countries, originally signed on November 17, 2025, during Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s state visit to Tashkent, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Under the protocol, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations is designated as the responsible authority for implementing the agreement. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will notify Turkmenistan once all domestic procedures are completed and confirm the appointed authority.

Officials say the protocol is expected to boost bilateral collaboration and improve the efficiency of joint emergency operations, ensuring both nations are better prepared for future crises.
