At a ceremonial event held at the Kuksaroy Residence, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has awarded Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with Uzbekistan’s highest state award - the Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik (High-Degree Friendship) Order.
President Mirziyoyev noted that the award reflects sincere respect and recognition of Berdimuhamedov’s efforts to strengthen friendship, mutual trust, and the strategic partnership between the two neighboring nations, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
“You are successfully continuing the work of your father, National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Large-scale projects in Turkmenistan are creating a solid foundation for the well-being of the people,” Mirziyoyev said.
The Uzbek president highlighted Berdimuhamedov’s contributions to expanding multifaceted Uzbek-Turkmen cooperation, particularly in trade, economic collaboration, and infrastructure projects. Key achievements include the launch of the Shavat-Dashoguz cross-border trade zone and active joint initiatives in energy, transport, and logistics.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized that the award symbolizes the enduring friendship and strong bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. In response, President Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to the people and leadership of Uzbekistan and reaffirmed his commitment to further deepening the strategic partnership between the two states.
