Abdulla Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, met with Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan, to discuss joint opportunities in pharmaceutical production, innovation, and investment, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

As part of the visit, the Bangladeshi delegation reviewed the work of Tashkent Pharma Park-Uzbekistan’s flagship pharmaceutical cluster that integrates research, high-tech manufacturing, and infrastructure aimed at boosting local and regional pharma capabilities.

The two sides discussed practical avenues for cooperation, including:

Attracting private investments from Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companies into Uzbekistan,

Establishing joint ventures to localize production,

Collaborating on contract manufacturing of medicines.

The ambassador noted that several leading Bangladeshi pharmaceutical firms are actively interested in entering the Uzbek market, and stressed the importance of transitioning from exploratory dialogue to clear, actionable cooperation plans.

To that end, the sides agreed to initiate a virtual roundtable involving top Bangladeshi pharmaceutical executives and relevant Uzbek stakeholders. The goal is to explore concrete projects, align mutual interests, and accelerate business partnerships in line with global pharmaceutical trends.
