Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov has participated in a high‑level ministerial meeting focused on interregional security and connectivity, bringing together the EU and Central Asian partners.
The meeting featured two major segments: one on security, stability, and resilience in the Black Sea region, and the other on advancing the cross‑regional Connectivity Agenda, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
Saidov stressed that Uzbekistan is prioritising “the expansion of international transport and logistics links, the development of platforms for innovation and technology exchange, and the strengthening of partnerships that promote security, stability, and sustainable development.”
He added, “Our discussions confirmed that interregional connectivity is not only about infrastructure, but also about building trust, supporting innovation, and creating conditions for the shared prosperity of our peoples.”
With representatives from the EU, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan in attendance, the session emphasised stronger ties across transport, digital, energy and trade networks.
On the transport agenda, the meeting underscored the importance of the Trans‑Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) and expanding links between the EU, Black Sea region, South Caucasus and Central Asia.
Other strategic themes included:
Digital infrastructure and high‑speed internet rollout
Renewable energy development and supply diversification
Simplified customs regimes, market integration and private-public investment co‑operation
A coordination framework for the Connectivity Agenda will be drafted and discussed further at the upcoming Investors’ Forum and Trans‑Caspian Transport Corridor summit in Tashkent on November 27, 2025.
