Beijing has hosted the launch of the Economic Development and Knowledge Exchange Program between Uzbekistan and China, jointly organized by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade (MIFT) and China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
The initiative aims to deepen institutional cooperation and adopt China’s advanced experience in economic reforms and industrial development, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The same day, a Working Group meeting under the MIFT-NDRC cooperation mechanism was held, co-chaired by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister Ilzat Kasimov and NDRC Vice Chairman Zhou Haibin, with participation from delegations of both countries.
Discussions focused on enhancing trade, transport, and logistics links, as well as accelerating major infrastructure projects, including the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway. The sides also explored collaboration in artificial intelligence and satellite technology, including establishing a regional Beidou system center in Central Asia.
Both parties confirmed their commitment to expanding strategic dialogue and practical cooperation.
