A delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekhydroenergy, Abdugani Sanginov, is paying an official visit to China.
A working meeting was held in Guangzhou at the headquarters of China Southern Power Grid International, where the cooperation progress was analyzed, and upcoming tasks were discussed, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Particular attention was given to investment projects to construct the “Upper Pskem Pumped Storage Power Plant” and the “Khojikent Pumped Storage Power Plant”. It was noted that the preliminary documentation for the “Upper Pskem Pumped Storage Power Plant” project is nearly complete, with implementation scheduled to begin in March. This will be the first pumped storage power plant in Central Asia.
The official groundbreaking ceremony is planned for March 10. Construction of the Khojikent Pumped Storage Power Plant is also expected to begin this year. Both projects are significant for the country’s power supply and will contribute to meeting the population’s demand for environmentally friendly electricity.
According to Uzbekhydroenergy, a Joint Development Agreement for the project’s implementation was signed.
