Uzbekistan Emerges as Growing Hub for International Education

Uzbekistan is witnessing steady growth in international student enrollment.

Between January and June 2025, a total of 9,500 foreign nationals arrived in the country for educational purposes, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The number marks an increase of 1,400 students compared to the same period in 2024, reflecting a 17.3 per cent year-on-year growth and underscoring Uzbekistan’s rising appeal as a destination for higher education.

India remains the top country of origin, with 2,780 students enrolled in Uzbek institutions. It is followed by Turkmenistan with 2,622 students, and Tajikistan with 1,145. Other notable countries include China (459), South Korea (381), Pakistan (348), Kyrgyzstan (263), the US (232), Afghanistan (167), and Türkiye (161).

Additionally, 988 students arrived from various other countries, highlighting Uzbekistan’s growing international academic presence and expanding bilateral educational ties.
