Uzbekistan, EU Strengthen Ties in Digital Innovation

Uzbek Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov has held a meeting with Toivo Klaar, Ambassador of the EU to Uzbekistan, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of digital innovation, telecommunications, and related areas.

During the conversation, Shermatov outlined the ambitious reforms underway in Uzbekistan aimed at accelerating the development of the IT sector, modernizing telecommunications infrastructure, and providing tax incentives for foreign companies operating within IT Park, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

He emphasized the government's focus on creating quality employment opportunities for youth and boosting the export of IT services.

Klaar commended Uzbekistan’s progress in recent years and expressed the EU’s readiness to continue supporting initiatives in the digital domain.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to make optimal use of existing opportunities, implement mutually beneficial projects, and elevate Uzbekistan-EU cooperation to a new level.
