Uzbekistan-Georgia Rectors' Forum to be Held

A delegation headed by Shokhrukh Daliyev, the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held talks with Giorgi Modebadze, the First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of the Republic of Georgia.

At the meeting, initiatives were proposed to elevate cooperation in higher education, science, and innovation to a new level, based on agreements reached at the highest and senior levels between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.

The parties exchanged views on further developing collaboration in education and science, implementing joint educational programs, facilitating faculty exchange, and supporting research activities.

During the meeting, information was presented on projects being implemented within the framework of cooperation between the two countries’ universities. In particular, three Georgian students are currently studying successfully in Uzbekistan, while Tashkent State Agrarian University and the Georgian Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture, and Winemaking plan to establish a collection vineyard and offer internships for master’s students specializing in viticulture and winemaking.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to hold the first Uzbekistan - Georgia Rectors’ Forum, which will help strengthen ties between academic communities. Additionally, an agreement was made to facilitate the admission of Georgian applicants to higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. This initiative marks an essential step in enhancing the international reputation of Uzbekistan’s education sector and expanding the export of educational services.
