Officials from Uzbekistan and Hungary have held a working meeting in Tashkent.
The meeting included Hungary’s Minister of Public Administration and Regional Development Tibor Navracsics, Syrdarya Governor Erkinjon Turdimov, and Acting Director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for Management Efficiency Ulugbek Khusainov, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The parties highlighted the stable growth of strategic partnership and friendly relations between the two countries, attributing it to mutual trust and consistent diplomatic efforts.
Key topics included the implementation of Hungary’s “Smart Villages” model in the Khavos district of Syrdarya as a pilot project, along with government modernization, digitalization, and efficiency improvements.
Preliminary agreements were reached on:
Creating a 50-hectare Uzbekistan-Hungary tech park in Khavos district
Organizing a business forum in Budapest for entrepreneurs
Establishing a fisheries faculty of Hungary’s MATE University at Gulistan State University
Launching several joint projects
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Uzbekistan’s Agency for Management Efficiency and Hungary’s Ministry of Public Administration and Regional Development. The collaboration will focus on human resource management, innovative governance, talent development, and regional growth.
